Peripheral neuropathy, regardless of its exact cause, is first and foremost a nerve issue.
There are many diseases that can damage your nerves such as diabetes, chemotherapy, autoimmune issues, heavy metal poisoning or some form of physical damage which can hurt the nerves.
When the nerves do not function properly they can cause a variety of symptoms but peripheral nephropathy is not the only condition that can affect your nerves.
Sciatica
Sciatica is a nerve pain that originates in the lower back and radiates down the buttock to the thigh and leg on one side. The pain may be accompanied by numbness, tingling or weakness. It usually goes away by itself within a few weeks.
Plantar Fasciitis
An inflammation of the tissue in the foot used during walking and foot movement. Pain may be worse in the morning or when you put pressure on your heel.
Bunion
A bump that forms on the outside of the big toe. Pain as well as numbness in the big toe is one of its major symptoms.
Osteoarthritis
Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis which occurs when the protective cartilage that cushions the ends of the bones wears down.
Symptoms include pain and stiffness of the joints especially after waking up or after being inactive.
Cellulitis
Cellulitis is a deep infection of the skin that usually affects the arms and legs. Pain, tenderness and swelling are its major symptoms.
Achilles tendonitis
An inflammation of the Achilles tendon. If not resolved on time, the condition may progress to a degeneration of the tendon. Symptoms include pain, stiffness and tenderness around and within the tendon area sometimes after periods of rest and worsens with increases activity.
