There are actually 5 stages which are not always easy to recognize and it is important that you take control of your condition before it reaches the later stages so you can have a chance to reverse and even completely stop its progress. Here are those 5 steps: Stage 1: You will experience some pain here and there in the hands or feet but nothing too dramatic or too often to interfere with your daily chores. You may feel a tingling sensation as well. But it’s nothing you haven’t seen before. You would probably blame it on doing too much work that day or on being too stressed. Symptoms in this stage can be triggered by high blood glucose levels due to eating high glycemic foods and junk food in general. Type 2 diabetes can be a triggering factor as well. Stage 2: The pain is almost constant now.

Here are those 5 steps:

Stage 1: You will experience some pain here and there in the hands or feet but nothing too dramatic or too often to interfere with your daily chores.

It is very much noticeable and it affects your daily life to the point where you have to see your doctor who may prescribe certain pain relieving medications.

This is a stage where you can still reverse your condition with the right treatment, approach and state of mind.

Stage 3: Pain is now constant and unbearable. You will also start experiencing numbness and your risk of getting injured increases during this stage.

There is almost a complete loss of sensation and in severe cases even amputation may be necessary to perform.

Stage 4: As pain starts to decrease, the numbness and loss of sensation increase, and your legs may become completely numb during this stage. You won’t be able to walk and your balance can be completely off.

Stage 5: The risk of amputation at this final stage is unfortunately the highest. You may no longer feel your legs or feet and may experience a complete loss of sensation.

The nerves are no longer able to send signals to your brain. Nerve damage is permanent at this stage.
Treating Neuropathy is a largely a misunderstood science, even amongst those specializing in the disorder. One of the biggest misconceptions regarding Neuropathy is that once the nerves are damaged, the Neuropathy is permanent. This is simply not the case. In many (maybe even most) instances, Neuropathy can be reversed. The body is an amazing instrument and can heal itself in most circumstances – if given the right tools. The human body is very good at repairing damage and fixing problems (like nerve damage) to get itself back into working order. With the right treatment protocol, most neuropathies can be slowed and even reversed. The key is figuring out what is causing the damage (and stopping it) and giving the body what it needs to heal any damage already done. Myth #4: Old People Always Get Neuropathy. The older you get the more you have to deal with aches and pains – right? Not necessarily! Neuropathy pain is not a sign of natural aging – it is a sign of nerve damage.
Neuropathy pain is not a sign of natural aging – it is a sign of nerve damage.

This damage can be caused by all sorts of things like injuries, infections, or another disease. But getting older isn’t one of those causes.

Just because you are at certain age does not mean that you are destined to suffer from nerve pain.

The best defense against becoming a Neuropathy sufferer in your aging years is to keep your body healthy and strong and get help as soon as symptoms arise.

Prescription drugs for Neuropathy are designed to ease or mask the symptoms. They won’t target the root cause of your condition.

Neuropathy is very common in diabetes patients, which may be one of the reasons why so many people think it is the single cause of nerve pain. This is not the truth.
Pain is the most common Neuropathy symptom, with numbness and tingling also experienced.

Still, they are not the only symptoms associated with Neuropathy. The Peripheral Nervous System includes of three main types of nerve including the sensory, motor, and autonomic nerves.

Depending on which of these nerves gets damaged, your symptoms can include:

Aches and severe pain, a burning sensation, muscle weakness or even paralysis, coordination issues and dizziness, heartburn and indigestion, blurry vision, incontinence, sexual dysfunction, excessive sweating, and even shortness of breath and irregular heartbeat.

As you can see, nephropathy can have an effect on so many organs and areas of your body and its symptoms are very individual.
