You see, the mind has two forms, the conscious (the thoughts we control) and the subconscious (the thoughts that are just there).

When the conscious mind continues to tell the subconscious mind something, the subconscious mind begins to accept the statement as truth (whether it is true or not).

In its most basic form, that is how hypnosis works. The hypnotist consistently tells the subconscious mind something until it believes it.

For instance, those undergoing hypnosis to stop smoking will be given the same message over and over again: you do not need that cigarette or that cigarette makes you feel nauseous.

After awhile, the subconscious mind will accept the statement as truth and begin to react to it.

You can do the same thing without hypnosis. Simply repeat a statement like “My Neuropathy is gone,” 15 … 20 … or even 30 times day to yourself and eventually your subconscious mind will believe it, causing your internal system to “make it true.” And heal your nervous system and reverse your neuropathy.

Sometimes, this therapy works all on its own, but it generally needs to be incorporated into a full all-body treatment plan to allow complete healing.

When inflammation occurs in the body, it can compress nerves, causing pain. Lucky for you some foods help fight this reaction and can even reduce inflammation. So, what are they? Here are the top dozen: Blueberries: Full of anthocyanin, this small berry is king when it comes to reducing inflammation in the body. Eaten plain or juiced, it works either way. Ginger: According to research, ginger helps to reduce inflammation by blocking certain enzymes and genes in the body that cause it. Green Tea: Full of antioxidants, including EGCG, green tea helps calm inflammation. Dark Chocolate: Microbes in the intestine actually ferment chocolate to turn into a powerful anti-inflammatory agent. But beware, it only works if the chocolate you are eating has 70% or more cacao. Wild Salmon: Offering active forms of vital omega 3 fatty acids, wild salmon offers great anti-inflammatory protection. Red Peppers: An anti-inflammatory super food, red peppers work the best to reduce free radicals in the body and fight inflammation.
Beets: A unique source of betleine pigments, beets have shown to reduce the level of inflammation markers in the body.

These compounds help prevent unwanted inflammation when they’re converted to I3C – a compound that research has found decreases the production of pro-inflammatory mediators on a genetic level.

Once you have adopted better eating habits to treat and manage your peripheral neuropathy, be sure to include this specific family of vitamins to ensure that your body is getting the nerve-strengthening nutrients it needs: The nervous system can’t survive without a healthy mix of complex B vitamins. Thiamine or Vitamin B1, is essential to healthy nerves and enough thiamine in the system is essential to reversing Neuropathy symptoms. It can be found in gluten-free grains like corn and sorghum (and most pseudo-grains like quinoa and buckwheat), red meat, egg yolks, berries, and some nuts. Vitamin B2 (riboflavin) is also an important vitamin when it comes to beating Neuropathy. It is used to convert niacin and vitamin B6 in the body for healthier nerves. Where can you find riboflavin? In whole grains (gluten-free, of course), eggs, and meats like beef, pork, and chicken and legumes like chickpeas. Niacin (Vitamin B3) and Pyridoxine (Vitamin B6) are two more B vitamins necessary for nervous system health and maintenance. They can be found in organ meats (like liver),fish, and legumes. When it comes to protecting the Myelin that protects the nerve fibers, you need to make sure that you get enough Vitamin B12. […]

When battling Neuropathy, it is important to stay away from foods that may cause inflammation and allergic reactions or even induce pain. Here are a few suggestions: Dairy products: While some people can reincorporate minimal amounts of dairy later on, during the healing process all dairy (milk, yogurt cheese products) must be avoided. Sugar: Since the vast majority of Neuropathy patients are also diabetic, it is extremely important for patients to control their blood glucose/insulin levels. This requires a strict adherence to a sugar-free diet and no artificial sweeteners are allowed either. The only permissible sugars are those found naturally in fruits, agave or Stevia. Refined Foods: Any time a food (like bread or rice) is refined, it loses the majority of its nutritional value. This makes it more of a starch, which also causes glucose levels to rise.

A lot of things can cause damage to your nerves. Peripheral Neuropathy is no exception.

When battling Neuropathy, it is important to stay away from foods that may cause inflammation and allergic reactions or even induce pain.

Adopting a total vegetarian diet can certainly help but which foods in particular should you stay away from? Here are a few suggestions:

Dairy products:

While some people can reincorporate minimal amounts of dairy later on, during the healing process all dairy (milk, yogurt cheese products) must be avoided.

Sugar:

Since the vast majority of Neuropathy patients are also diabetic, it is extremely important for patients to control their blood glucose/insulin levels.

This requires a strict adherence to a sugar-free diet and no artificial sweeteners are allowed either. The only permissible sugars are those found naturally in fruits, agave or Stevia.

Refined Foods:

Any time a food (like bread or rice) is refined, it loses the majority of its nutritional value.

This makes it more of a starch, which also causes glucose levels to rise.

Refined foods include such things as white rice, white pasta, white bread, etc. Do your best to stay away from anything “white.” One example is to substitute sweet potatoes for white potatoes.

Processed Foods:

Steer clear of foods containing a lot of preservatives and chemicals, since these ingredients can, over time, damage your nervous system.

Things available in box or canned form like macaroni and cheese cups, canned pasta, canned soups; etc. TV dinners, baked goods, and readymade side dishes.

Remember, if it can be stored on a shelf for more than a few days or can be cooked and eaten in a matter of minutes, the odds are it is considered a processed food and should be avoided.

Wheat Products/Gluten:

Even if you do not have sensitivity to gluten, you should avoid all gluten-laden products during the healing process.

This includes things made with wheat, rye, barley, and oats. Ingesting gluten when you are sensitive to it causes inflammation and that can cause nerve pain.

Rice:

This was probably the hardest for me but rice contains small amounts of arsenic, which can be very troublesome for anyone who suffers from nerve damage, and therefore should be avoided as much as possible.

If it’s a staple food for you then at least make sure you boil and rinse the rice afterwards to reduce arsenic content.

Fried and Deep Fried Foods:

Any time oils are heated, they can become a toxic to the body.

Fried foods like French fries, breaded chicken, tenders, perogies, and more are also fatty and can contribute to obesity, which only adds to the Neuropathy patient’s problems. A better choice is always to bake.

Fried and Hydrogenated/Partially Hydrogenated Oils:

The most common oils used in cooking and baking, refined and hydrogenated/partially hydrogenated oils may be fine when left in their natural state, but once they are processed, can become quite toxic in the body.
